The main structure of the building made of the fair faced concrete and slate stones, together with the linear wooden grilles, artistically resembles a fascinating square curtain. As the light scattering through the wooden grilles, the house decorated with the vertical wooden shelves and furniture exposes the warm and serene feeling, preserves the penetrability of the space.

Production Technology

The main structure of the building made of the fair-faced concrete and slate stones, together with the linear wooden grilles, artistically resembles a fascinating square curtain. As the light scattering through the wooden grilles, the house decorated with the vertical solid wooden shelves and furniture exposes the warm and serene feeling, preserves the penetrability of the space, spawns the composed oriental atmosphere, and shows the magnificent contemporary elegant textures.

Project Duration

The project finished in May 2012 and locates in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Operation Flow

The massive olive-green stones constructed on building exterior manifest the majestic and poised impression. The plain textures of fair-faced concrete walls and wooden grilles accentuate the relationships between solid and airy, obstructing and penetrable, and fixed and flexible, thus creating the Zen artistic conception, ingeniously blocking the uncomfortable heat of sunlight, and securing the private lifestyle.

Research

The house is surrounded by the warm sunlight, greenery plants and fragrance of flowers whose vitality of nature embraces the family and creates the calm and invigorating scenery, thus ubiquitously showing the vitality of life.

Inspiration

Creating a building making people feel relaxed and making people open mind in a building; creating a gesture making people interaction easier and making people feel the power of nature. The design of residential space is based on the courtyard that defines the laid-back lifestyle. The water wall and landscaping harmonize the real and imaginary features and create the comfortable space.

Hidden Home Residential Building has been a Iron winner in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
