Unique Properties

Meeting in design Located in a park, the church has a river in its south flowing quietly with abundant trees by side. At the beginning, the designer is looking for characters of the church through architectural and natural space, and feels architectural languages God wants to give her. A church is sacred and quiet in which the soul can rest in peace and lost people can find hope again. Therefore, the design of church must be pious as well.

Design Challenge

1.How can we find characters of the church through architectural and natural space, and to express the sacred feeling of church? 2.What kind of building materials and design methods are used to express the place spirit of the church?

Project Duration

The design of the project started on August 28, 2017, completed on November 5, 2018, and completed on December 10, 2019. The project address is No. 687, Xijiao Road, Haishu District, Ningbo.

Operation Flow

Step 1: the preliminary planning and design of space plane; Step 2: draw the detailed space design scheme; Step 3: the owner confirms the overall design scheme; Step 4: draw construction drawings and confirm the list of building materials and furniture; Step 5: deliver the construction drawings.

Research

At the beginning, the designer is looking for characters of the church through architectural and natural space, and feels architectural languages God wants to give her. A church is sacred and quiet in which the soul can rest in peace and lost people can find hope again. Therefore, the design of church must be pious as well. Therefore, design must be essential and devout. We need to present the spirit of this place with pure heart, essential materials and natural brilliance.

Wangchun Church has been a Iron winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
