Residential House for Growto Design
This project has been looking for the relationship between nature, people and light. The center of the design is around the perception of "human" himself, making space, nature and human dialogue. The design emphasizes interactivity and the proportion of blank space. The light box not only liberates the space, but also puts life, art, taste and attitude to beauty in it, endows the space with uniqueness, and creates a design idea with Oriental aesthetics, natural attributes and humanistic spirit.

In the repeated deliberation of space, designers do not stick to the original closed state of space, and from the perspective of "human", improve the intimacy of human to nature, to find the living state of seclusion. The light box carries the deposition of time, and the blank space makes "people in the box" more likely. By retaining the emotion between people, they establish a new interwoven relationship, and integrate the power of nature to evolve the "box of light".

Although some construction techniques are simplified as far as possible in this case, the simplification does not mean rough. For example, the joint between solid wood veneers is required to be controlled at 1mm, so it needs careful treatment by workers. As for the closing of stone and wood, it is also necessary to leave a certain gap between the wood to ensure long-term use.
In the early stage of the contact project, the design team is also looking for an opportunity, that is, how to break through and establish the relationship between human and nature, understand the different needs of customers and give deeper thinking. In order to break the usual thinking, they always let designers think in detail that "design comes from life" while considering functionality.
The project started in April 2018 in Chengdu and finished in November 2019 in Chengdu.
This case does not make complicated decoration forms, but subtraction, maximizes human behavior and actions, deals with the relationship between people through returning to the essence of "home", and makes them symbiotic, independent, clustered and scattered.
For a long time, the original intention of design is mostly based on the different feelings and trust of customers, but the only constant is to create a way of getting along with nature, people and light, pay more attention to the relationship between people and space, simplify complexity and build a happy life scene. Therefore, the design of this case is based on the deep understanding of customers, the on-site experience and long-term thinking of life.
In the design process, designers often read about Louis Barragan's ideas, so the case runs through several themes that Barragan loved throughout his life, such as religious piety, light, body, and horse. Barragan said: "Tranquility is the real great medicine to relieve pain and fear, whether it is luxurious or simple, the architect's duty is to make tranquility a regular guest in the family." In the Light Box, returning to peace and inner precipitation may be a new start.
