Residential House for Chihwen Interior Design
Sitting around lush green trees, the house enjoys a stunning view. As a bridge between indoors and outdoors, floor-to-ceiling windows introduce abundant light. The maximized window-to-wall offer a full-length view of the outside as well as expanding the spatial vision. The dark gray stone tiles and wooden cabinet are the first impression of the entrance. The natural wood and stone offer a relaxing vibe when the house owner returns home. The screen is made of slim iron pieces with glass assemblies. Thanks to opacity of the glass film, it lets the light pass through while retaining privacy.

Neutral grayscale shades match the tranquil scene, and the hand-painted smears on the walls present a rustic and original tone in a low profile. Wood, white hues, dark gray shades, iron, glass, and other elements are mixed to create an elegant scene.

The structural beam spans the canopy at the junction of the living room and the foyer. While synchronizing the coating of the TV wall, it starts with the wall next to the shoe cabinet and wrapping the beam upward, continuing to the wall next to the dining table. The vestibule spans over large space to reduce the presence of volume.
The project finished in August 2021 in Taipei City, Taiwan.
The natural light coming from the glass is softened by the glass, and cast a white, non-dazzling sunshine. Stepping into the living room, there is a change in flooring material. The wooden flooring gives a comfortable and skin-friendly touch to the space. The main TV wall is painted in grayscale, while the asymmetrical natural texture enriches the expression of the space. The horizontal pull-out wooden TV cabinet on the lower level interrupts the oppressiveness of the large areas of texture, leaving a breath of fresh air and creating layers by using various materials. The study area is defined by a half-height wall instead of a solid wall, which retains transparency and increases the interaction between family members. After the expansion, the wall turns and connects to the bookcase along the window, creating a sense of stability in the space. The lower layer of the bookcase is lightly covered with wooden grilles, and the delicate lines are lined up to lend an elegant and elevated touch. The middle section of the cabinet introduces an open platform, and the upper display cabinet stores collections or books as needed, creating a unique and charming vista in the warm wooden interior.
The simplicity forms a neat dining scene. The modern table and white kitchenware create a cozy and inviting atmosphere with the diffusion of light. The dimmable light source changes the visual appearance and mood of the space according to the residents' preference. When adjusting light level from bright to dark, you can embrace a bistro-like vibe.
