House for Georgios Nikolaou Interior Design Skin Architecture

Located at the outskirts of a village, the design and materials of the house suit both the natural landscape and respect the traditional village house designs but with a modern aesthetic. The layout is a traditional pi shape that gives a calm and ergonomic flow between interior and exterior. The design team wanted the family and public spaces of the house to blend seamlessly but function independently and offer privacy where needed. Four living areas allow all aspects of the view to be enjoyed.

The layout is a traditional ‘pi’ Π shape that gives a calm and ergonomic flow between interior and exterior. We wanted the family and public spaces of the house to blend seamlessly but function independently and offer privacy where needed. Four living areas allow all aspects of the view to be enjoyed.

Project Duration

Two years Limassol Cyprus

Inspiration

The inspiration came from the immediate environment. It is on a hill with uninterrupted views of both mountain and sea. It is north facing and perfectly orientated for the sun, light, air and views. We wanted a seamless flow between the interior and exterior so that wherever you are in the house, you would always have a beautiful outlook. With the native landscape as our palette, we used natural colours of beige rock, brown wood, mountain olive greens and blue water to reflect the facing Mediterranean Sea.

Project Overview

M Two House has been a Iron winner in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
