Residential for Mu Mu Interior Design
The symmetrical and blessed designs are in all parts of the space. The rounded ceilings create an oriental Zen-like space where one can feel the invisible natural energy in the wood during the time. Uses a large amount of solid wood to create a room full of wood fragrance, whether it is flooring, cabinets, tables, and chairs. The purpose of this project is to have a dialogue with wood, to feel the flow of time together with wood, and to build a balanced relationship between time, wood, and people.

The entire design combines solid wood and an Oriental Zen impression. The design team uses the warm atmosphere of solid wood to extend the rounded lines, making the image of the space more vivid. The living room and the tea area are designed with a retracted ceiling to imply the separation of the two sections. The receding sides are rounded with curved corners and indirect lighting. The wood grain texture pours down with the light, enveloping the public space. The meditation room is specially designed for the needs of the client. The whole room is made of wood, the windows are made of wooden blinds, and the cabinets are also in wood grain.
Solid wood, tea, retirement, Zen style, combination of two apartments.
In this project, logs from Laos are widely used. In addition to the furnishing like tables and chairs, solid wood is also used for the flooring. Meanwhile, the space is embellished with stone mosaics, tiles, mirrors, fossilized wood, iron, glass, and light strips. During the process, the design team also takes cleanliness into account and uses wood fossils for the door frames and window frames. The texture is the same as the wood grain, but it has the characteristic of being easy to clean, making the wood tone design consistent and enhancing the functionality of the space.
The elements used in the project are pure, so the difficulty of the design is 'how to present elements in each area and how to have a different style.' For the living room ceiling, the design team wants to present a warm atmosphere of wood with a rounded shape. However, the process was very challenging. In addition to the unevenness of the wood veneer on the curved surface, the indirect lighting will focus on the curved part and strengthen the unevenness.
The project finished in January 2022 in Taiwan.
In addition, to meet the basic storage needs, the 257 square meter space also incorporates the needs of each family member. For example, the public area with the clients tea area and meditation room, and the master bedroom is a beige and gray space preferred by the client couple. On the other hand, the light green bedroom, which is suitable for the client's son's temperament, uses circular imagery to connect the public and private areas and to link the design themes to satisfy each family member's requirements.
The whole project is constructed with logs to create an oriental Zen atmosphere and connects the public and private areas with symmetrical and rounded imagery. The design team's blessing and thoughtfulness to the client are included in the project. In the public area, two new sections are added for the client, which are a tea area and a meditation room. In the living room and the tea area, the design team emphasizes the image of wood. At the same time, the meditation room minimizes the artificial elements, and the client can be surrounded by the wood-filled space.
The client, who is nearing retirement, desires a place where he can spend time with nature. Since solid wood resonates most with him, the design team chose to use solid wood in the interior design and furnishings. In addition, the design team also realize the client's ideal tea area and meditation room according to his needs. Finally, by incorporating circular imagery and oriental concepts, the design team has created a Zen style residence with a modern touch.
