Office Lobby for We Design
The project is a mixed-use building office lobby in Dongyu Logistics Park in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China. Inspiration is drawn from the bar code and container in the logistics industry. The original four isolated columns are adjusted and integrated into the whole structure. Various aisles are created. The alumina plates weaken the heaviness of the columns, making the space high-tech. Different textures of marble and aluminum metal overlap and collide to make the space more layered. This is how the designer built an efficient office, setting a new trend for logistics.

Located in Dongyu Logistics Park in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China, this project is a mixed-use building office lobby space, surrounded by picking stations and logistics warehouses. With an attempt to break stereotypes of the traditional logistics industry, the designer has added the elements of the logistics industry into the design, extracted the characteristics of logistics, and the relationship of linking and conveying, to create a free and energetic office space.

Two states of users in this space can be seen. One is a busy scene with a clean background, the other is people talking freely and easily in an open area with sunlight pouring into the room, and the facade partition projects a strip on the corridor floor.
In the original space, the four columns in the lobby existed in isolation, and the connecting beams obstructed the view and destroyed the overall sense of space, and had no connection with the exterior facade. Therefore, the designer has adjusted the structure by changing the four columns into the connection of the whole building, while creating different circulations of people walking and waiting.
The project is located in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, China, started in April 2019 and finished in May 2022.
The use of alumina plate material makes the overall visual sense of the columns lighter, making the space cool and high-tech. The joint, overlap and collision among marble, aluminum metal and other materials combine the subtle details, making the space more clashing and layered. In addition, the strong color contrast of blue and red is used to differentiate the toilets for men and women. Therefore, the strong visual impact infuses a sense of art into the gray space.
In the process of making changes in a traditional industry, how to reflect the characteristics of the industry based on the current free and open working philosophy, and let design empower the traditional industry is what the designer has been pursuing. By thinking and looking for what is the most familiar element of this industry to the public, the designer works hard to complete the design with empathy.
Inspired by the most common bar code and container in the logistics industry, the designer works to create a free, open, efficient and cool office space that reflects the characteristics of the logistics industry, bringing a new trend to the traditional logistics industry.
