The interior of this project involves an unfurnished interior space of around 66m2, with a ceiling height of 4.2 meters and abundant natural light. Before the commencement of design work, the design team determined that the homeowner couple were usually hospitable and wanted a more open common area to receive and entertain guests, but the rest was entrusted to the design team.

Building materials: marble, faux paint, metal parts, metal panels, melamine panels, faux stone tiles.
When a large amount of light enters the main living quarters through the large windows, honeycomb shades not only allow the versatile adjustment of light into the interior, but also accentuate a comfortable and bright environment in the main living area. When planning the main wall of the living room, in consideration of the need to plan a cabinet counter with an overhang and a gradual indent, the original stone material was replaced with steel and dark metal panels to avoid structural problems. This also perfectly echoes the metal panels used in the ceiling of the dining room and children's room, effectively relieving the sense of pressure in the interior.
The project finished in December 2021 in Taipei City, Taiwan.
The long arched, circular shoe cabinet in the foyer corresponds to the four-sided ceiling, with a round and square shape that is equally distinct and eye-catching, creating an effect that is practical and yet focuses on the vista. The overall open and bright layout positively impressed the homeowner couple and their children. The dining and kitchen area is integrated, with the kitchen counter and the long dining table adjacent and consistent. Especially impressive is the steel ladder design that connects the upper and lower spaces and exerts force on one side. The first two steps of the ladder line are covered with marble, which is light and vibrant. Above the dining and kitchen area is the children's room space in the duplex, which is closely connected by echoing and interacting with each other, providing a private place for occupants to enjoy quality family time or entertain guests.
The living room is connected to the dining and kitchen area through an open space to foster easy engagement of the occupants no matter where they are in the house. The arced shape from the foyer forms a transitional vista of the house, creating a sense of ritual when entering or leaving the home. The high ceiling allows the residents to communicate and interact with each other easily no matter where they are in the house; the curved shape of the foyer forms a transitional end view, creating a sense of ceremony when entering and leaving the house. In order to let the space and design better complement the scenery, the whole interior is designed with indirect lighting, and the air vents are hidden from view, so that spatial pressure is relieved with simple and sleek lines along the ceiling...
The overall style is mainly dominated by a modern and minimalist design language. The public space is surrounded by large open windows, extending the visual outlook to the urban scenery and communal courtyard. In order to allow the view to continue uninterrupted and to draw focus on the scenery, the design team chose to hide the storage spaces through adept design. With a grayscale theme as the main color element, the lines and contours are streamlined and the ambiance more elegant...
