The solution lies in designing the space to be more humanized and comfortable. Adding more changes to the space will better match ergonomics, making it more in line with the homeowners lifestyle and trajectory of the line. This will enhance the use of experience and comfort. Moreover, the use of elegant and smooth curvature with curved lines will connect the ceiling, the floor, and the wall, fitting both the shared and private living areas. This will continue and extend the visual experience.
Artistic coating, Wood veneer, Stone-sculpture-art-textured faux finish paint, Stone plastic composite, Arch glass
To increase the amount of light in the space and maintain an unobstructed light surface, the design team has planned stone plastic composite for the flooring, along with artistic coatings such as stone-sculpture-art-textured faux finish paint and Benjamin Moore's environmentally friendly paint. This not only makes cleaning easier, but also indirectly enhances the brightness of the space with its warm and plain surface.
By harmonizing light and light colors, the designers have effectively increased the brightness of the space and given it a stable and clear visual appearance. The staircases and handrails connecting the upper and lower floors have been modified with geometric cut-outs instead of traditional heavy designs. The upper and lower floors are divided into public and private living areas. Additionally, the curved arcs keep the living room area elevated and create a gentle and smooth sense of movement.
The project finished in February 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan.
To optimize the utilization of the available floor space, the designer ingeniously employed a tree-hole style log section in the entrance. This not only serves as a dining table but also functions as a display area for the homeowner's figurine collection while serving as a transitional area leading to the high-ceilinged living room. Moreover, the staircase on the left is designed with a combination of natural stone, solid wood, and iron parts, which provide additional storage functions.
The design conforms to the space and realizes the homeowners desire for a pure and simple life. Moreover, it embodies the simplicity, naturalness, stillness, passage, sense of seasonality, and sense of Japanese wabisabi. Furthermore, the design incorporates the simplicity, naturalness, brightness, and comfortable details of Scandinavian style. This is done while emphasizing environmental protection and sustainable development.
Compared to straight lines, curved lines are often considered more aesthetically pleasing, smooth, and can be used to guide the line of sight. Curve lines also attract attention and generate visual pleasure. In addition, curved lines are more in line with people's natural posture and trajectory of movement, which enhances the users experience and comfort.
