The production technology for this project utilises a thoughtful combination of traditional and modern materials. The walls incorporate both old and new bricks, skillfully blending the textures to maintain heritage while introducing contemporary design. Three skylights are strategically placed to optimize natural light, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and enhancing the space’s energy efficiency. Bespoke metal panels and shelving with reeded glass are custom-designed, combining precision craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques.
Through case studies and design analysis, this research explores how the arrangement of spaces influences occupant movement and the overall atmosphere. The findings provide insights into creating seamless, well-connected environments in hospitality settings. Additionally, the study addresses the challenge of selecting materials and wood treatments that comply with fire safety regulations without compromising the aesthetic integrity of the design, balancing safety and style effectively.

Upon entry, guests are greeted by the bar, with rustic turquoise tiles and opal globe pendant lights casting a soft glow over the curved counter. The tunnel dining area, illuminated by pendant lights and reeded glass-boxed metal frames, offers intimacy. Under a large skylight, the main dining area is filled with natural light by day and glowing feature lights by night. Central banquette seating, surrounded by greenery, enhances privacy, complemented by brick walls and glass cylinder lights.
The strategic use of space and layout in architectural design focusing on how different areas within a multi zone environment are organized to optimize flow and functionality. Specifically the research examines the integration of two distinct premises joined together investigating how their combined layout can enhance spatial coherence and user experience. By analysing the interaction between various zones such as bars, dining areas, and private spaces this study identifies key design principles that facilitate smooth transitions and maintain a sense of openness and connection.
The restaurant is located in the heart of the West End, in Leicester Square, London. The design is inspired by the creation of a calm space that evokes the feeling of being in an outdoor courtyard, offering an oasis amidst the surrounding hustle and bustle of one of London’s most vibrant tourist areas.
