Lines and light blend to create a quiet, Wabi Sabi aesthetic. The corners are intimate and full of meditative power. Curves and windows naturally lead the eye to a brighter, open exercise area. It is a tribute to peace of mind and raises the visitor's anticipation of what is to come. The warm color palette and soft drapery of the exercise area suggest muscularity, inviting one to immerse oneself in a dialogue between body and soul in a relentless pursuit of beauty. In the brightly lit space, power and beauty intertwine to form a moving image.

Unique Properties

The project is in Wabi-sabi style. The curved shape, wood, and soft color palette reveal a serene and warm atmosphere. The curved shape is the core. From the curtains on the ceiling and the curved design of the conversation area to the irregular mirrors and chandeliers, they all echo the softness of a woman's posture and show a sense of mobility. The designers made full use of natural light from three sides to create a comfortable and bright exercise space. For example, the grille screen enhances the depth of field, and the space tiles optimize the light and ventilation in the locker area to ensure comfort.

Production Technology

To shape a cozy atmosphere, the designers covered the walls with cement paints and earthy coatings that mimic stone veneer. These coatings have high texture and color expression. The details are decorated with PU stone veneer, PVC flooring, grilles, and draperies. The wall behind the counter is covered with earthy paint while the large pillars are covered with stone veneer. Both of the materials have an impressive texture that harmonizes with the paint to highlight the style.

Design Challenge

The challenge was in the curved walls and tiles. The curved wall is the highlight, but its construction is difficult. The curved shape is an angle that is hard to depict and describe with drawings and words, so the construction requires experienced craftsmen to ensure that it shows smoothly and naturally. The small tiles must be tightly fitted to achieve harmony.

Project Duration

The project finished in October 2023 in Taiwan.

Operation Flow

The details are very impressive. For example, the smooth lines of the curved walls, the subtle texture of the tiles, and the lighting and ventilation plan are all very pleasing to the owner. The designers understood the owner's needs and preferences and carefully planned an aesthetically pleasing and functional sports space.

Research

The name "impulse" symbolizes rhythm, calmness, and relaxation. This is a Pilates space designed for women. With "calmness and relaxation" as the core, the designers constructed a quiet space with functionality and aesthetics through wabi-sabi style, curves, wood, and soft colors. To satisfy the preferences of the female clientele, the space is decorated with fashionable and delicate elements such as striped tiles and fabrics, making the space a photo spot. The curved shape from the ceiling drapery to the negotiation area, as well as the irregular mirrors and chandeliers, echo the femininity and reveal the sense of flow.

Inspiration

The site is a women's Pilates space. The designers took "calm and relaxation" as the core to create a functional and aesthetic sports space. To create a calm and relaxing atmosphere, the designers applied a wabi-sabi style. The curved shape, wood, and soft color palette give the space a serene and warm atmosphere. To cater to the female clientele, the designers added some delicate accessories, such as thin striped tiles and curtains, to make the space fashionable and serve as a photo spot.
