The minimalist lines of the warm colored furniture are like a visual meditation, immersing people in a space surrounded by gentleness. Warm light illuminates every corner like sunlight through the gaps in the treetops. The designers skillfully used straight lines and flat surfaces to create a quiet space. On the walls, mineral paints converge into warm layers of color, like nature's brushstrokes that are free and flowing. The texture of the travertine is like a mark of time, showing simplicity and depth. Light and shadow jump on these textures, quietly weaving simple and colorful poems.

Straight lines and simple blocks with natural materials interpret the calmness and aesthetics of Zen, giving modern spaces a unique sense of tranquility and harmony. In terms of storage and circulation planning, the designers minimized the necessary walking distance, making each step natural and smooth. Storages are concentrated in core areas to minimize cabinetry. This maximizes storage functionality while allowing the occupants to be minimized from the inner self to the home.
Zen aesthetics, natural materials, clean lines, minimalist design, fluidity, old apartment.
Materials: mineral paint, travertine, tiles, wood veneer, eco-friendly latex paint, etc. The project is characterized by straight lines and flat shapes. To add more layers between the blocks, the designers chose to cover large areas of the walls with paint. The mottled natural texture of the mineral paint creates a variety of layers when exposed to light. Large-size tiles minimize the lines in the space. Finally, the undecorated travertine gives the space a delicate texture under the simple material composition.
The designers were faced with material, structural, and detailing challenges. All three require precise calculations and in-depth understanding. The first step was to upgrade the electrical plumbing system to address the limitations and pitfalls of the old building. Then, according to the design concept, the core of the project was to balance functionality and aesthetics through reduction. The designers worked through trial and error to achieve the perfect result. Each section was carefully planned to ensure that the result was aesthetically pleasing and functional.
The project finished in December 2023 in Taiwan.
Owners are extremely satisfied with their new living space and especially appreciate the storage solutions and the sliding door. The overall design is aesthetically pleasing and functional, and the integration of storage space makes the interior tidy and harmonious. Family members feel the positive impact of the remodel and enjoy the comfort and functionality. Optimized storage keeps the home clean and orderly by concentrating items in a few core locations, making it easy to find and organize items.
The designers used simple lines and natural materials to create an impression of Japanese Zen aesthetics. Reducing unnecessary decorations creates a quiet space for minimalist lovers. The design emphasizes the sense of layer and smoothness. The designers utilized straight lines and blocks to reveal the natural look of the materials and combine them with a variety of textures to interpret the calmness and inner beauty of Zen. In addition, the optimized storage and circulation design enhances the efficiency of the space and realizes the minimalism from the heart to the living space.
The project is a renovation of an old apartment. The owner has been living abroad for a long time and expects the home to have no complicated design and leave a natural and comfortable attitude to life. With this in mind, the designers used simple lines and natural materials to create an impression of Japanese Zen aesthetics. Reducing unnecessary decorations creates a quiet space for minimalist lovers. The layout optimizes storage and circulation efficiency, utilizing every inch of space while maximizing space efficiency. Natural textured materials embody the aesthetics of Zen inner peace.
