Splicing expensive ink-grained stone slabs with cheap wood veneers not only saves budget but also improves the craftsmanship. The semi-open box uses panel curtains. Different from the general fixed partition sliding doors or heavy S-shaped curtains, the panel curtains can be easily opened and closed. While protecting privacy, they can also allow light to pass through, providing a sense of transparency, making people feel safe in the box without feeling depressed.
The timeline and budget for design and construction were tight. The 260 square meter project had to be designed and constructed within 6 months and included specialist items such as operating theatres and gas engineering. The designer had never worked on a medical space related to plastic surgery before, so he had to understand the project and study the space requirements at the front end, combining aesthetics, functionality and professional space use, all under the pressure of time and budget.
The project began design and construction in Taipei, Taiwan in April 2024. Under tight budget and time constraints, it took 6 months to complete and was delivered to the customer in September 2024.
The high-back screen is made of 5 pieces of wood, fixed with hardware clips and can be disassembled individually. When the client wants to clear the entire space for public events and lectures, the screens can be completely removed and the space can be fully opened. It maintains a sense of openness while cleverly creating a moderate sense of privacy, making it suitable for communication or resting alone. The two semi-open rooms use panel curtains as space partitions. Clients and consultants can enter and exit from any direction, which increases flexibility and efficiency.
Plastic Surgery Clinic Within 6 months, design and construction were carried out simultaneously to create a commercial environment that is both functional and artistic. Integrating medical engineering expertise, fast, lightweight, fireproof, and durable construction and assembly methods, Use soft furnishings to create uniqueness and beauty.
We use natural materials, earth colors and textures to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We incorporate Chinese and Japanese Zen artistic conception, integrating the concepts of high-end clubs, professional clinics and meditation treatment rooms. When designing within budget constraints, I consider how to present: Unique without being exaggerated, Beautiful but not luxurious, Low cost but not cheap. Timeless classic style.
