The color scheme is defined by a dark, sophisticated grayscale, enriched with expansive Sycamore wood surfaces that add depth and texture. With its natural patina, this wood evolves under shifting light, offering warmth and a seamless connection to the surrounding greenery. The interplay of materials and nature fosters tranquility and groundedness. Bathrooms feature luxury Italian fixtures, accented with copper-toned metal details for elegance and refinement. These subtle metallic touches create a sophisticated contrast, enhancing the home's timeless and understated luxury.
Although this villa offers multi-level living, the limited floor area per level posed a challenge in balancing storage and openness. Maintaining functionality while ensuring spatial fluidity became a key focus. A major transformation on the second floor involved removing the original railing between the living and dining areas, creating a seamless, open connection. The staircase was also carefully designed, prioritizing safety and ergonomics while serving as a refined visual element. Thoughtfully selected materials enhance its aesthetic appeal, reinforcing the villa's cohesive and harmonious design.
The project finished in May 2023 in Taiwan.
After moving in, the homeowner praised the seamless circulation. Staggered levels allow effortless movement, enhancing both function and comfort. Whether enjoying a quiet morning in soft daylight or hosting lively gatherings, each space adapts to refined living. The spacious dining table and bar counter on the second floor have become a focal point, fostering social events and quality family time. Custom cat perches and smart storage solutions add flexibility, ensuring the home aligns with the family's lifestyle and evolving needs.
Nestled in the mountains of northern Taiwan, this hillside villa embodies 'natural tranquility,' offering an elegant sanctuary for modern living. With abundant wooden elements and a carefully planned layout, the interior seamlessly connects with the surrounding landscape, creating a refined yet serene ambiance. Fluid circulation and multifunctional spaces define the design, with a layered, stair-like path linking areas while maintaining openness. The second floor features a spacious dining area for ten, an extended bar counter, and custom storage, blending functionality with sophistication for effortless entertaining.
In the fast-paced rhythm of modern city life, home is no longer just a shelter but a sanctuary for the soul. Nestled in the mountains of northern Taiwan, this residence was designed to fulfill the homeowner's desire for tranquility and a grounded lifestyle.
