Unique Properties
Cafe The Larks is a joyful space for a mindful community who value freedom, sincerity and a taste for life. The premises for this café, which serves delicious breakfasts all day with fragrant bread and croissants, are located in the modern Podil Plaza residential complex in Kyiv, Ukraine. The peculiarity of this project: unusual shape of the space - most of the walls were in the form of glass partitions of a radial shape.

Production Technology
The design concept was to harmoniously place the technology zone and the landing zone for guests, and all this on a limited space of 50 m2. The project of this format required enormous energy and creativity, so as the making of the most exquisite dessert. The main criteria in the technical design plan was to withstand all the necessary standards - ventilation, insolation, high strength of coatings and environmental friendliness of materials. Therefore, such types of finishes as microcement, self-leveling floor, decorative plaster, tiles and mirrors were chosen.
Design Challenge
A mixture of such modern trends complements the space as: metals (stainless steel), rounded shapes (arches), float glass and a bright ceiling (caramel), light asceticism (nothing superfluous, no decor).
Project Duration
Location - Kyiv, Ukraine Duration - 6 months
Operation Flow
The key colors chosen were shades of caramel and pistachio, combining the colors of sand and gray, which brought everything together into a single composition. The textures of natural materials of concrete, wood and glass gave these interiors naturalness and light, a feeling of purity and lightness of space. The space is complemented by a mixture of such modern trends as: metals (stainless steel), rounded shapes (arches), float glass and a bright ceiling (caramel), light asceticism (nothing superfluous, no decor).
Research
Entering this cafe, you immerse yourself in an atmosphere of freedom and sunny space. There you feel like you belong, in a big city, where everything is created for rest and relaxation.
Inspiration
The design style concept has several key standing points: pastel shades, graphic in the structural elements, rounded shapes for the furniture and usage of arches. The inspiration came from the name of the space – The Larks Café, a bird which symbolises the hope, light, and joy. Also the lark is “the highest form of human existence” (according to the Ukrainian philosopher Grigoriy Skovoroda).
