Residential House for MadegoDesign
The designer uses the advantage of the nature of the attic itself, to make the space with the flavor elements of iron, cement, and wood. The wood feeling echoes with the natural environment atmosphere, and create the layers of light and shadow from the green, light, wood, pure white, and grey border spectrum. Extending the attic residences permeable space sense, the high ceiling collocation with no wall pattern plan, makes the integral vision with the broader visual effect. The TV swivel mount and the tatami design are the highlights in the case.

There are few attic houses in Taiwan. The designer uses the advantage of the nature of the attic itself, to enhance the atmosphere of transparent vision. The designer also invokes the industrial atmosphere like the New York attic by implementing flavor elements of iron, cement and wood; on the other hand, the natural daylighting, blank white wall and pure white tone in great quantities can balance the raw and cold atmosphere, and explain the fresh and extremely simple living taste.
Interior, Design, House, Residence,
Structure Design upholds the concept of 30% design and 70% life, which reflects the white blank is the important practice in indoor environment, it also reserves enough space to let the owner play by own. In order to lead the light to enter the room, no wall design could let the light cross the space, and the light and shadow interweave the bright living field. Also, house owner loves the pottery art, and the plain cement color of architectural concrete paint echoes with the low key living feeling, matching with the large art painting, and attaining the humanistic salon atmosphere of elegant emotional appeal.
Considering that Taiwan city receives the northeast monsoon in winter, plus located in the subtropical climate, about half a year to a third is the rainy day, therefore, the designer replans the important hallway field, and adds the shoe cabinet and painting, to make the transition area also with the practical function and life taste concurrently. In addition, from the light luxurious marble in the hallway area, and the polishing quartz brick in the dining area to the light color wood floor in the living area; through the gradual change of 3 kinds of building materials, the function and mood transformation are defined for each area.
The project started in July 2018 and finished in Feb. 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan
The case belongs to the attic space of 6 meters high, and attic firstly focuses on the open design, a full open on the pattern is adopted, which makes the living room, dining room, and kitchen with full transparent vision; in addition, it is more suitable for the whole family interaction; the designer makes the whole first floor into one compartment free space; no matter the family members cook in the kitchen, have dinner in the dining room, or read in the living room, all can chat freely. The public area on the ground floor is the parent child relationship enhancing area of house owner and family members.
TV is the important role of the living room in Taiwan, and is the gathering place for leisure and entertainment, but the traditional TV wall fix the television to single direction, in this case, the designer lets the television be flexible along with the family member moving. It can be able to face the living room sofa, and also can turn to the dining room and kitchen, so that no matter before or after the meal, the whole family can sit together and watch TV at any time.
Green, light, wood, natural is the core spirit in this case. Due to the outdoor garden is just out of the window, the owner wants to lead the green into the interior space, to let the whole family enjoy the comfortable open landscape once entering the home; at the same time, the wood feeling and daylighting also echo with the natural environment atmosphere, and create the layers of light and shadow from the green, light, wood, pure white, and grey border spectrum.
