Office Lobby and Cafeteria for MisoSoupDesign

The movement of lights and how people let freely experience the atmosphere creates the fluidity in the space. The original interior space, which built about thirty years ago, is dark and inactive for the high-end information technology company. To create a new brand image and provide the employee with a comfortable and productive working environment, the design utilizes the company color as the new identity of the brand and also as an accent in the space. Through the basement to the 1st and 2nd floor, the Vibes creates an amazing daily experience during the working hour.

Unique Properties

To differentiate from other technology companies in Hsinchu, we re-evaluate the idea of branding and corporate identity, hoping to get away from heaviness of traditional image of the industry, yet making a brand new impression of how technology would be in the current time. Using the Syntec Blue as the accent color, it elevates the sense of fashion and activate corporate image.

Production Technology

The general area uses glass, stone, ceramics, and wood for interior finishes. The open space vertical area at the lobby incorporate digitally milled wood louvers to create the impression of vibes. For the basement cafeteria area, it is emphasizing the more natural and comfortable feeling by applying warmer tone of wood surfaces.

Design Challenge

The hardest part of this project is to understand old structure and figure out the possibility of new design.

Operation Flow

The people who work in the space can communicate via the open space between ground level and second floor. The lobby entrance emphasizes the character of the company by creating a strong impression of the brand image. The cafeteria has a clear view of the courtyard in front to create a comfortable dining experience during their lunch break.

Research

The most important goal for this project is to show the possibility of utilizing the old structure and update to the current needs of the company to establish higher brand value.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the design for this office renovation is the flow of digital information. The company is one of the most outstanding CNC machine manufacturers in Taiwan, which is trying to renew the company identity and brand itself with a higher value. To archive a new branding image, the design incorporates a clean and fluid feeling as its strong vibes.

Vibes Office Lobby and Cafeteria has been a Iron winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2019 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition.
