The exterior design of the temple illustrates the richness of elements and characteristics of ancient oriental architecture. Approximately one-third of the site was intentionally allocated for the vastly Zen garden's landscape, to lure the eyes with beautiful nature as a luxury and great sense of welcoming entrance. The frontage manmade lake was complemented with an outdoor gallery of Chinese calligraphy and Buddhism statue stones carving along the pedestrian path circling to evoke the scene of the modern era emerging with ancient oriental characteristics.

The site is situated in Malaysia, a hot-humid tropic country with high precipitation all over the year. The construction structure is dominantly a reinforced concrete and masonry wall- sustainable and suitable for the hot tropic climate and minimal seismic zone. Pitch roof and clay tiles are the most sustainable roof type to address the hot-humid and heavy rainfall. The reflective pond surrounding the temple building footprint is another sustainable tool that acts as an air inter-cooler system, to reduce external air temperature before entering into the building and to reduce the dependency on the air-conditioner.
The challenging part of the building is the conversion of technology. The ancient oriental architecture is created through timber building structure, whereas the timber structure is not capable of to current era. Hence, the conversion of ancient timber structure into a concrete structure without losing any aesthetic feeling and actual proportion of ancient oriental architecture is our main challenges
The project expected started in October 2020 Selangor, Malaysia and will finish in year 2022
Besides the usage for Main Temple Hall, the building also takes the experience of visitors in the outdoor Buddhist calligraphy garden into account. The project is set up according to various functions, including a prayer hall, indoor and outdoor Buddhist cultural caligraphis museum, meditation, etc.
Chinese calligraphy and Buddhism statue stones carving are essential in traditional Chinese architecture. They hold a high philosophical and historic value. Those stones are introduced into the Zen garden landscapes as an outdoor gallery along the pedestrian path circling the lake - to complement the atmosphere towards the sense of oriental and its origin. The interior design of the enlightenment hall is decorated with many of those stones at the columns, walls, and ceilings - to enrich the spiritual moods and to complement the purpose. In other words, it recreates a modern version of Mogao Cave temple in Dun Huang, China.
The inspiration for this theme of the design is through the Tang, Song, and Ming Dynasty architecture - emphasizing the traditional elements of details such a roof, screens, and sculptures into the modern touch to create a progressing architecture, Neo Oriental. Traditional lanterns are significant ornaments in Chinese tradition that were being translated into the façade design as a Chinese screen with frosted glass backlight effects – to create a neo-oriental illuminated by the modern vibe.
