One of the key challenges in constructing the building is adapting traditional technology to modern requirements. Ancient oriental architecture was originally built using timber structures, which are not suitable for contemporary construction standards. The primary challenge lies in converting the traditional timber framework into a concrete structure while preserving the aesthetic integrity and maintaining the authentic proportions of the original oriental design.
The project started in October 2020 Selangor, Malaysia and finished in July of 2024
Visitors pass through grand gates to explore the Tang-inspired exteriors before entering the peaceful prayer area. The building's interior is designed to maximize air circulation, capturing the refreshing sea breeze. Inside, cultural artifacts await discovery, while the meditation gardens offer a tranquil setting for reflection. Guests can join guided tours, engage in educational programs, and participate in community events, making the temple a dynamic center for spiritual contemplation, cultural enrichment, and unity.
The innovative Oriental Temple in Malaysia offers a blend of Tang Dynasty aesthetics and modern sustainability. This research examines how the architecture adapts to the hot-humid tropical climate, with reinforced concrete and masonry providing resilience in low-seismic areas. The pitched roof, adorned with clay tiles, is designed to manage heavy rainfall, while the internal hall's layout enhances air circulation. The study highlights the temple's significance as both a cultural and spiritual center, promoting community involvement and preserving rich traditions within a modern framework.
In the Oriental Temple, visitors embark on a transformative journey through a fusion of classical and contemporary design. Drawing inspiration from Tang Dynasty architecture, the exterior radiates grandeur. Carved wooden panels and mirrors featuring Chinese floral elements reflect wisdom and unity with nature. Beneath a towering dome, a Buddha statue symbolizes the connection between earth and heaven. This design seamlessly integrates spiritual evolution, cultural depth, and a timeless blend of tradition with modernity.
