Production Technology
The decorated walls, made up with different sizes and different tallness, inserted with dark curtains, give the space profoundness. And the wall aside is covered with grey straight slabs whose burning veins expand in the space. Gold sticks and black mirrors on the wall are randomly decorated, which will take you from the limited space to the unlimited starry sky.
Design Challenge
The pentagon lighting bars have symmetric regularity, irregularly radiating gold beams. The beams shine upon the most important dining-kitchen table in the Karen Teppanyaki—both the dining table to the guests, and the cooking table to the chef. Unlike ordinary square table or big round table for family reunion, the designer breaks the usual arrangement and merges two big round table. The chef surrounded by the guests can properly interact with them, as if the planets around the sun receive the light.
Project Duration
The project finished in October 2020 in Tainan, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
The moment you step in Karen Teppanyaki, the shocking decorated walls strike your eyes. Those straight lines intersect with gold colors and black colors, allowing uncontrollable wilderness spreads out of controllable outlines.
