Apartment Design for Dimension Interior Design Lab
This project took the concept of runway as the main idea of design. The designer used the height difference design of floor to define the functionality of the space, break the spatial boundaries and connect each space through movement design, with a raised runway linking the three areas, and a slanted wood grain ceiling creating the illusion of a high ceiling, giving the space different altitude.

In this case, the designer shaped the elevated walkway into a runway in the space, and defined the function of the space with the flooring and height difference design, combined with ceilings in various angles instead of solid walls to enlarge the overall appearance of the public space. The color of the space was cement gray with warm wood grain, and the natural light was introduced through the wooden louvers, and with the clear design structure, the space expressed itself at any time.

Cement Texture (Mirco Topping), an eco-friendly coating developed by the Taiwan team, was used for the whole project. This coating is derived from Taiwan's reservoir mud, which is an environmentally friendly recycled technology material with the characteristics of environmental permeability, waterproof, and prevention of wall cancer, and is a purely natural product suitable for the humid weather in Taiwan.
This is a roughcast apartment project to design from scratch. Due to the limited budget, the plumbing, structure, partition and design were all included in the budget, so the designer included the plumbing and structure into the design when working on this project. In order to reduce the cost, the designer used dynamic design to reduce the number of partitions, and achieved the decorative effect by elevation, cement coating, and wood grain finish to enrich the space with warmth of home. In the structural protrusions, pipes and all kinds of lines, customed designed cladding structure to hide, presenting a clean visual space.
The project finished in June 2019 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
In order to make the space visually consistent, the designer used mechanism as bus doors for the two bathrooms and the dressing room. In addition to more efficient use of space, the frameless design bus door makes the walls look cleaner and neat. A window was also opened on the wall between the master bathroom and the bedroom, allowing light from the bathroom window to penetrate into the bedroom, increasing the light and temperature inside. The headboard is shaped in a trapezoidal form to wrap around the protruding structural beams to create a functional finish.
In an interior space full of lines and angles, balancing the excessive angles and lines in the space is an important issue. The designer used a symmetrical configuration on the wall shared by the storage room and the guest room, aiming at balancing the spontaneous lines in the space through a large symmetrical configuration and making the space orderly in a chaotic way.
The owner works in the steel industry and his products are all sharp and angular, so the designer took cool colors and angular lines in the space to show the background of the owner. The concept of the runway was used as a design idea to show the owner's self-expression as a business owner, and the designer wished the owner a bright and soaring future.
