House for K.Y. INTERNATIONAL DECO&DESIGN COMPANY
The design of the residence is inspired by the hostess’s love of the milk-tea color. It features simple lines and a warm, pleasant color scheme, blending the Japanese simple and Nordic styles. The statement wall is characterized by a soft, intellectual light gray. When paired with light-veined cabinetry and flooring, it not only highlights the visual quality and moderate aesthetics but leaves proper blank without looking empty.

K.Y. INTERNATIONAL DECO&DESIGN COMPANY, YU CHUN CHENG, Residential House, Interior Design, milk-tea color
At the entryway, wooden-veined grilles tie with wooden flooring of marble veins, presenting enriched visual effects of refinedness and mellowness, which extend to the entire common area. A large amount of toxin-free green material is used indoors, emphasizing the idea of sustainable housing. On the large main wall, Lotos cement is specifically selected for high moisture absorption and air permeability to resolve the common problems of humid weather in the region. Tawny glass is used to divide the wall to maximize the space and add a finishing touch.
The organization of storage is another highlight in the entire residence. Cabinetry of diverse functions is integrated into different spaces to meet the needs of this family of four for storage and neatness. As the homeowners do not have specific preferences, the designer provides professional guidance and selection, and by simplifying the design and using healthy, safe green material, a laid-back vibe in the home is created. Thus this pleasant, warm space defines what a sweet home should be like.
The project finished in June 2021 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
It features simple lines and a warm, pleasant color scheme, blending the Japanese simple and Nordic styles. The statement wall is characterized by a soft, intellectual light gray. When paired with light-veined cabinetry and flooring, it not only highlights visual quality and moderate aesthetics, but leaves proper blank without looking empty. In the common area, the same blend of milk-tea tone and gray color is manifest in the living room and the dining room. By means of light-shade wooden flooring, low wood-veined TV cabinet and the ceiling grooves, and the wooden light-meal area behind the kitchen island, paired with recessed lights and indirect lighting, softness in the space is further accentuated, making for natural, agreeable warmth.
Given the young age of the two children, a safe smooth flow in the layout is the top priority. The two rooms for kids share the same design and are aimed to create a healthy and safe environment for growth. Abundant storage cabinetry is thoughtfully installed, with part of it indented according to the users’ statures. Together with upholstered coaches, a nook exclusive to each kid is created.
