Life Hall for Shanghai PTArchitects
In order to make the land plot develop as a landmark building, the Life Hall must be quite forward-looking and architecturally expressive, not only to fully reflect the cultural and historical connotations of the city, but also to display a modern, dynamic urban intent and outlook. Inspired by yachts, Dayou Aristo Life Hall adopts a streamlined shape to depict the portrayal of the times. Large-area colored glazing glass combined with champagne metal is adopted, not only avoiding people's line of sight from directly looking through, but also creating a pure and elegant artistic conception.

Dayou Aristo is surrounded by convenient transportation facilities, holding obvious location advantages. The west side of the base faces the river, which facilitates enjoying a stunning natural view. On the whole, Dayou Aristo is positioned to create the ideal residence for middle-class families. How to show the future life scene and high-end entrance image for the middle-class and above customers has become the main demand of the Dayou Aristo Life Hall in the preliminary opening stage.
community center, glass curtain wall, overhanging space
Due to the land use conditions and the spacing between the east and west sides of the building, the Life Hall is relatively constrained, making it difficult to form a spacious and atmospheric facade image. In the principle of overhanging canopies not counting in building spacing, a grey space with a width of 6.2 meters and a height of 9.25 meters is set up outside the east side of the east building surface, and the floating panels on the second floor form an overall floating panel image with the parapet, thus elongating the length of the building along the street to highlight the horizontal stretching facade effect. The metal waistline between the first and second floors uses the same detailed design as that of the top, cutting the main body of the building into the upper and lower levels to further emphasize the horizontal orientation.
Outside the east facade, an overhanging space with a width of 6.2m and a height of 9.25m is dedicated. The structure is supported by staggered steel columns, because the height-to-thin ratio of steel columns directly affects the presentation of the overhanging space. If the steel column is too thick, it is difficult to form a light and floating image. After repeated communication with the structural engineering professionals, 300mm diameter steel column is determined. At the entrance of the Life Hall, the local material "Shandong white pearl" is chosen for the second floor, reflecting the local culture and humanistic care and saving costs at the same time.
The project started in Sep. 2020 and finished in Apr. 2021 in Shandong, China
The color glazing glass applied in the glass curtain wall presents a veiled effect, moreover, it is of vital importance to determine the texture size and color of the color glaze for the presentation effect, so through repeated proofing by the design, the glaze point with a diameter of 4mm and a circular center spacing of 6mm is adopted finally.
In order to make the land plot develop as a landmark building, the Life Hall must be quite forward-looking and architecturally expressive. Inspired by yachts, the project adopts a streamlined shape to depict the portrayal of the times. Large-area colored glazing glass combined with champagne metal is adopted, not only avoiding people's line of sight from directly looking through, but also creating a pure and elegant artistic conception.
