Residence for EGO DESIGN STUDIO
With a concise layout and a fluid flow, the design of the living space naturally connects all the daily needs and habits with its orderliness. Designed based on the owner's habits and years of experience living abroad, the space functions for one to rest, to host parties, family gatherings and to work from home. Thus, it is divided especially into the common and private areas with a clear division. In addition, a great amount of storage rooms are planned to create a space that is more practical to use and efficient for cleaning.

Fluidity, Interior, Marble, Wooden, Biodiversity
A great amount of storage rooms are planned to create a space that is more practical to use and efficient for cleaning. With teak and marble to build up the space's texture; tinted, patterned or clear glasses to decorate; the richness in the used materials extend features of the surrounding architecture and environment, to create a living space that can encapsulate every moment of life.
The black-and-white marble veins on the wall embellished the aisle to the entrance, establishing a vivid visual perception walking on the way of the corridor. Through applying particular features of natural materials, the weight of the space is well balanced with harmony. The hidden wooden door, on the other hand, stands in the center of the vertical corridor.
This project is finished in August 2021 in Taichung City, Taiwan.
Getting in from the entrance, one can see the shoe cabinets functioning to store shoes and daily used clothes, are equipped with a ventilation system, allowing dust and waste to be exhausted from the pipes. This arrangement betters the flexibility and functionality at the entrance, which also reduces the possibility of a messy environment. The symbolic meaning of "fluidity and change" of the exit/entrance therefore completes the emotional transitions while coming in and going out.
As a private lounge for the owner, the living room is decorated with a big size floor-to-ceiling glass window, introducing abundant natural light into the space. In order to include the vista of the high-rise building and the surrounding, each window is decorated with curtains of different functions. The honeycomb blinds allow one to control the amount of light to introduce in with its adjustable height, easily enjoying the cityscape with privacy.
Taking the idea of biodiversity of the tropical area into the design of the building and the interior, the living environment is uplifted through the application of plantation, wooden, stone materials, and natural lighting. There is no need for excessive decoration. The rich texture and palette inside the space already produce a harmonious perception for the residents.
