Restaurant for Guangzhou Mushi Design and Decoration Co., Ltd.
The designer wanted to create a place to dine in the cabin of a ship to correspond with the freshness of seafood. Therefore, taking the cabin as the design inspiration, the basic element N shape of the cabin is extracted and combined with different materials in the form of abstract design techniques such as splitting and reorganization to form the exclusive identity of the brand, so that the brand output has uniqueness. The space is mainly in modern minimalist style, with warm yellow tones and rustic and natural wood and rattan materials to create the antique texture of fishing boats.

Ship 79 is a seafood restaurant dedicated to serving freshly cooked seafood. It is popular with the customers for the high-quality fresh ingredients, immersive dining site and affordable prices. This case is the interior design of a Ship 79 Restaurant. Taking fresh ingredients as the core of the restaurant, the designer hopes to create a cabin-like dining place to highlight the freshness of seafood.
Modern, Minimalist, Natural wooden, Primitive, Simplicity
The space mainly takes the modern minimalist style. It adopts the warm yellow tone and plain, natural wooden, rattan materials to create primitive simplicity textures of fishing boats, bringing a relaxed and friendly feeling of space. Bent lines, curved ceiling, and U-shaped partitions echo each other in the space, bringing changes to the overall impression.
The space uses plain linear lighting, just like the faint light emitted from distant floating fishing boats, to convey artistic conception, and make the space simple and agile. The space applies a large number of removable components, which can be recycled.
The project started in April 2020 in Shenzhen and finished in November 2020 in Shenzhen.
The semi-private rooms adopt hollowed arc partitions and rattan screens to keep privacy and give customers the freshness of looking outside as if sitting in a cabin. The rooms are separated with water corrugated glass partitions, which produce a sparkling visual effect under the light. The corridor extends the water waves to deepen the theme of the space and make the space transparent, reducing the discomfort of closure. The booths by the window, simulating travel boxes, enjoy the scenery outside, full of fun.
The lobby is paved with terrazzos to bring memories back to the ancient times. Gray leather seats soften the space of hard lines to deliver comfort. The ceiling presents multi-level changes, affording the space for thought. The linear glass windows simulate the viewing windows of the cabins to enhance spatial permeability.
As a result, the designer, inspired by the cabins, extracts the n-shape, a basic element of the cabins, divides and reorganizes the space in abstract design techniques along with the use of diversified materials, to form an exclusive IP of the brand, and make the brand unique in the market.
