Show Unit for Line2pixels Studio
This show unit is inspired by the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic, where the balance of organic curves and paneling seamlessly links the different areas of the interior. To capture the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, the main colour palette is composed of earthy, muted tones, such as browns, greys, beiges and a hint of natural green, reminiscent of traditional Japanese homes built from earth and mud. With an harmonious balance of these colours, the space will be infused with harmony and realness, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

To capture the essence of Wabi-Sabi's earthy and muted tones, the designer has chosen a lime wash paint finish for the walls and ceilings, paired with natural wood laminate and travertine stone for an inviting and tranquil atmosphere. The combination of these materials creates a warm, comforting aesthetic, perfect for cultivating a sense of peace and tranquility.
Unlock the potential of the 1,110 sqft. apartment with three bedrooms by coming up with creative ideas to maximize the small space without compromising on the aesthetic and make it feel much larger and functional.
The project construction started in October 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and finished in January 2023 and was launched for public showing in February 2023
Once the concept and interior design scheme of Wabi-sabi have been determined, the next step is to plan out the given space and create an artist impression of the space. After the design has been approved, the necessary materials are chosen and detailed construction drawings are prepared to begin the construction work. These drawings will provide the blueprint to ensure that the concept and design of the space are implemented correctly.
Understanding the concept of Wabi-Sabi is an essential part of creating a unique and meaningful space that truly reflects your personal style. Wabi refers to the beauty found in asymmetrical and unbalanced objects, while Sabi is the beauty found in aged objects, representing the idea of life’s impermanence. By embracing the principles of Wabi-Sabi in the interior design, a space that is truly special and reflects individuality was created.
The design is inspired by the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, a Japanese approach to life centered around appreciating the beauty in imperfection. Wabi-Sabi is a way of looking at the world that offers an escape from the modern obsession with perfectionism, favoring instead the authenticity of imperfection. With Wabi-Sabi, more meaning and beauty can be found in the world.
