Shared Space for QINGSHI Interior Design
The famous Koch Curve is a classic fragmentation paradigm. It is a series of equilateral triangles that are constructed and stacked in complexity to emphasize the symmetry and beauty of nature. The project is inspired by seeds and shapes the spatial silhouette with arcs. The designer conveys endless variety in the uncomplicated curves, allowing the three-dimensional space to express a close connection to the exploration of nature.

The base is a shared space for the community. The building is surrounded by greenery, and the power of nature has a close relationship with people. Inspired by the "seed", the designer developed a series of designs based on its key elements, such as its rounded shape, hard shell, and spirit of growth. Taking advantage of the high ceilings of the base, the designer integrated the homogenous natural elements inside and outside the building to create an open and comfortable shared space.

Building materials: 60.120cm imported tiles, glass, 100.100cm sheets, marble, Japanese diatomaceous earth wallpaper, grilles, and baking paint. The project is embellished with earthy tones. In grayscale, the designer used curved elements to balance the overly cool atmosphere. The panels and wallpaper have a soft impression. The veneer, with its embossed effect, presents a subtle visual effect in the large color block. The wallpaper, on the other hand, has a mineral gold powder coating, which makes the curved surfaces even more delicate.
The theme of 'Seed' is distinctive, so it was inevitable to have conflicts in the communication with the owner. For example, the white baked glass of the entrance was originally designed as a logo, and the designer added the digital concept to allow the visual effect to change according to different angles, creating a work with artistic value. Weighing up the best effect was a challenge of the designer's aesthetic compromise and criteria.
The project finished in July 2023 in Taiwan.
The overall effect is quite exquisite and high-quality. The dark tone and mirror visual effects enhance the quality of life and taste. The most laborious curved glass bookcase brings rhythm to the space, unlike the traditional square bookcase, it is practical and artistic. Last but not least, the imagery of seeds is perfectly embedded in all areas. Whether it is the arc, the organic shape, or the concept of environmental protection, they all reflect the core spirit of the base.
In nature, 'fragmentation' is defined as the continuous division of a fixed geometric shape into several parts that maintain a self-similar nature. The jagged shape of a leaf can be seen as several isosceles trapezoidal shapes, as is the philosophy of the project 'Transient Light'. Whether it's the lighting fixture on the ceiling, the display cabinets, the tables in the reception center, etc., all of them are made of geometric shapes with curves. The project is well-lit, and 'Transient Light' means being surrounded by light.
