We have reimagined classic elements using modern techniques. The living room features Silver Fox marble in geometric shapes accented by metal, and the dining room showcases a dome ceiling with reflective wood veneer. Integrated storage and strategic lighting enhance both functionality and style, blending seamlessly into the design to create a cohesive, artistic environment.
Meticulously preserving classic elements while embracing modern design philosophies and innovative techniques, the project contemplates the interpretation of classical beauty through contemporary materials and methods, maintaining harmony and consistency in the overall design. Careful consideration was given to the preferences and requirements of each age group, such as integrating barrier-free features for the elderly and weaving modern technology and trendy elements for the younger generation.
This project commenced design discussions in June 2022 and was completed in January 2024 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The design features a modern open concept kitchen with sliding glass doors and accordion curtains to manage cooking fumes and maintain space clarity. The master bedroom uses wavy walls and strategic lighting for a welcoming feel. In the media room, hand dyed wood veneer wallpaper with metallic lines adds visual texture. A skylight in the communal bathroom introduces natural light, enhancing the atmosphere. These elements combine to enhance both functionality and aesthetics in the living space.
We aimed to create inclusive and sustainable environments that cater to all age groups. Using an integrative method that combined aesthetic assessment with ergonomic analysis, we collected data through surveys, space analysis software, and light distribution tests.
This design was inspired by the dynamics of light and shadow transforming ordinary architectural elements into art The vertical and horizontal lines with varied materials blur boundaries between two and three dimensional spaces enhancing the modern aesthetic Utilizing textured materials like stone diffuses light creating reflections that change throughout the day An open layout supports smooth circulation for all reflecting inclusivity in design.
