Office for K&H International
The ocean themes led the design team's creative process through all the elements of graphic planning to finally creating an island space through an oval conference room at the focal point of the reception area. This design maximizes the influx of natural light and landscape views, making it more transparent and bright while breaking the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The panoramic view features the skyline of Ningbo East New City and the urban landscape of Yinzhou District. Like the mountains on the far horizon and the distant harbor, it appears like the whole world is within reach.

The new headquarters embodies the motto expect innovation and is inspired by the very themes which make travel inspiring, enlightening and compelling. Through collaborative cooperation with LEED consultants, the concepts of green and sustainable development and people-oriented design are integrated throughout the project, which ultimately attained LEED Gold certification. This demonstrates the strategic development concept paired with social responsibility within an international organization.

The material selection was essential to the design process, the floor and ceiling reflect themes of deep and light, cleverly matched. The carpet's circular pattern is like a sparkling sea surface, dancing with blue light; while darker deep shades contrast with white stones, like a winding coastline stretching into the distance, side-by-side. This echoes the mutual development of Ningbo and the Samsonite Group.
The office space must reflect the corporate culture and industry temperament, while also showcasing the urban context of the company's location. In the design of the main wall of the reception area, the designer extracts elements from the new and beautiful logo shape, with elegant curves that are light, agile, and like the Yongjiang River passing through the city, peaceful and full of power.
The project started in December 2022 in Ningbo and finished in May 2023 in Ningbo.
The design team incorporated intelligent lighting systems, electronic atomized glass, adjustable office desks, conference room reservation systems, and other intelligent devices to create a smart office. Smart office technology creates a flexible and diverse office environment with a strong sense of innovation for the new generation of young professionals.
The management office is understated and elegant, comfortable, efficient, and ultimately practical; the open employee area is simple and spacious, with multiple collaborative spaces and dedicated meeting spaces to meet the needs of different work modes. The overall spatial aesthetics cleverly integrate a combination of furniture, materials, colors, and lighting while carefully balancing the scale of proportion to present an efficient, natural, and harmonious working atmosphere.
The corporate heritage, culture and brand spirit are deeply ingrained within this office space which also showcases the company’s context within its urban location. Designer Ray Yang observed the silent power of the Yongjiang River winding its way through the cityscape. It inspired him to infuse the elegant flowing curves of the Samsonite logo design into the lightweight agile elements of the reception area main wall.
