Our design approach combined research - driven methodologies with user - centric planning to ensure functionality and comfort. We applied workplace strategy analysis, focusing on flexibility, acoustics, and natural light distribution. Materials like wood, felt, and textiles enhanced warmth and sound absorption, while industrial elements preserved the building character. A balance of structured and organic forms, guided by movement flow, created an intuitive and adaptable workspace.
The main challenge was transitioning employees from a traditional office to a flexible, open-plan space. Internally, we addressed resistance to change by integrating familiar, comfortable elements. Externally, we balanced building constraints, acoustic regulations, and ergonomic standards. Limited space required innovative zoning, while ensuring access to natural light. By blending Scandinavian minimalism with local work culture, we created a design that fosters both efficiency and well-being.
The project started in January 2024 and finished in December 2024. The office is located in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A well-designed workspace must fulfill the needs of all employees, enabling them to exceed with their goals. To achieve this, we provided five basic spatial concepts - Focus Work, Team work, Social Interaction and Knowledge Exchange, Collaboration and Meetings, Reception Area. Distributed evenly throughout the office and alternating along the main circulation path, these zones allow employees to effortlessly transition between different work modes, share experiences and interact with colleagues.
We conducted qualitative workplace research to optimize functionality and comfort. Using surveys, interviews, and spatial analysis, we gathered data on employee needs. Testing layouts through simulations refined zoning, acoustics, and ergonomics. Results highlighted the need for flexible spaces, natural light, and noise control. This research improved workplace efficiency, well-being, and collaboration, influencing modern office design with a focus on adaptability and user experience.
The inspiration behind the concept rests on the idea of creating special office with inviting fluid spaces, which also have a proper sense of human scale. The color palette and the materials are specially selected to enhance the home-like feeling. All representative areas aim for a sculptural and clean contemporary outlook. There is a subtle color coding implemented in the treatment of the different areas, in order to highlight additionally the difference in the functionality.
