Production Technology

The design was realized through meticulous space planning, integrating sustainable materials and multifunctional elements. Smart zoning techniques maximize usability, while custom-built furniture enhances functionality. Warm wood tones, natural stone, and eco-friendly finishes were selected for durability and aesthetics. Thoughtful lighting design creates a serene ambiance, ensuring a harmonious balance of comfort and modernity.

Design Challenge

The biggest challenge was optimizing comfort and functionality within a limited 66-sqm space while maintaining a modern hotel-style aesthetic. Balancing privacy, openness, and storage required innovative layout solutions. Structural limitations and building regulations also influenced design choices. Through careful spatial planning, multi-functional furniture, and sustainable materials, we overcame these challenges to create a relaxing, efficient living environment.

Project Duration

The project began in September 2024 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and was completed in December 2024. Designed to optimize space and comfort, it embodies a modern hotel-style home. The project has since been showcased as a prime example of functional and aesthetic living in a compact urban environment.

Operation Flow

The design enhances daily living by creating a seamless flow between spaces, ensuring effortless movement and functionality. Smart zoning adapts to different needs, while built-in storage keeps the home organized. Soft lighting and natural materials create a calming ambiance. Every element is designed to maximize comfort and relaxation, transforming the space into a peaceful retreat for its residents.

Inspiration

The design was inspired by the growing need for a peaceful, functional space within compact urban living environments. The motive was to transform a limited approx. 66-sqm area into a comfortable, modern home that serves as a retreat from daily stress. Research into space optimization and modern hotel-style design led to the use of neutral tones, sustainable materials, and functional layouts, ensuring both aesthetics and practicality.

Project Overview

The Joy of Rest Residential Interior has been a Bronze winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively. Winning this award highlights the designer's ability to blend form and function effectively, offering solutions that enhance people's lives and wellbeing.
