The project maximizes natural light and raw materials like suede-textured mineral paint, wood, and rattan to evoke tranquility. Production Technology
The design employs a multi-phase process combining conceptual development, precise material selection, and advanced woodworking techniques. Flexible plywood is used to create smooth curves, suede-textured paint enhances light diffusion, and handcrafted rattan elements add warmth. These techniques ensure a harmonious yet technically refined space.
Design Challenge
Transforming structural constraints such as protruding beams into design elements was a major challenge. Internally, reconciling historical context with modern minimalism required rethinking spatial relationships. Externally, production limitations and material availability demanded innovative craftsmanship, ultimately unifying the space into a refined and harmonious environment.
Project Duration
The project began in June 2023 in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and was completed in September 2023. The design and planning phase lasted three months, followed by a four-month construction period. Located in the Zhonglu district, the residence embodies a refined urban retreat, balancing contemporary elegance with timeless warmth.
Operation Flow
Stay Gold invites effortless interaction, guiding movement through gentle curves and natural light. The design transforms daily transitions into engaging experiences, balancing communal openness with intimate private zones. Key moments like entering the foyer or gathering in the living area create a fluid journey that enhances comfort and connectivity.
Inspiration
Inspired by the home's exceptional ceiling height, natural light, and scenic surroundings, Stay Gold celebrates unadorned living. By stripping away excess, the design reveals the space's intrinsic beauty, using organic textures, fluid curves, and a minimalist palette to craft a serene and reflective atmosphere.
Project Overview
Stay Gold Residential Interior has been a Bronze winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2024 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Bronze A' Design Award is given to outstanding designs that showcase a high degree of creativity and practicality. It recognizes the dedication and skill of designers who produce work that stands out for its thoughtful development and innovative use of materials and technology. These designs are acknowledged for their professional execution and potential to influence industry standards positively.
