Residential Apartment for Cristina Menezes Arquitetura e Decoração Ltda
This project has unit throughout the apartment with the main integrated spaces. The whole house is connected to the outside through the large windows and the open porch. This also brings the landscape into the house. To bring some nature into the space, several green areas were created internally. This gave a relaxed atmosphere and met the expectations of the customers! Private spaces; bathrooms and sleeping quarters are formally arranged by the wood panels to allow a full house, protecting privacy. This strategy creates a sense of drama, surprises for housing, and allows for easy sectoring.

This project has unit throughout apartment. Internally, the house is organized around connections to the outside. The balcony and large windows provide deep light to the plan and bring the landscape into the house. Private spaces; toilets and sleeping quarters are formally arranged by the wood panels to allow a full house, protecting privacy. This strategy was employed to create a sense of drama for housing and allows for easy sectoring.

The owner asked to do the interior design with materials, which will remit him to the nature, and with the precepts of sustainability. In this case, they choose timber floors certificated for the bedrooms and neolith, synthetic product, paving for the rest of the apartment and for the countertops. The neolith was glued to the existing floor to avoid waste and to speed up the work. The wood panels are made by MDF. In addition, all the lights are led.
The challenge of this project was chose the right design to meet the clients expectations. Everything had to respect their concept of life. The correct choice of finishes and furnishings were very important to have the unity in all design! About the construction, all materials used are most modern and practical as possible to facilitate their moments at home! About the furniture, a mix of Brazilian design with Italian design and some points of ethnic design gave a singular result!
The project started on September 2016 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and the construction began on July, 2017 and ended in December , 2018.
The social area is integrated with the balcony and the kitchen to allow the perfect interaction among all people! Sliding doors can give privacy when needed! A green wall brings nature into their home. The material palette is simple, raw and not intended to be overly detailed. The use of wood panels instead of conventional masonry throughout, timber floors in the bedrooms and the neolith paving in the rest of the apartment gave a feeling of relaxation and integration.
The most important point to note is that when you live in a loft, you can not have privacy when you need it. Here, the use of wood panels allows for privacy and integration when needed. This flexibility; the connection to the outside and points of green areas inside the home is a modern way to live. This has transformed this house into a model for future development. This demonstrates that it is possible to live harmoniously with nature in a densely populated urban environment.
The concept of the renovation of this apartment is inspired in the lifestyle of the owners! They are a modern and young couple and they love to have their friends dividing their good moments! They live in a big city and as they do not have a way to live in a house, they asked to do their apartment with the sensations and with the same atmosphere of a house, with visual connections with outside and if it is possible surrounded by plants as they are nature lovers! This is their dream house!
