This is an old house built in the 1960s. Its construction area is only 80 square meters. The roof of the old house has collapsed. The mottled walls, waste and plants are scattered throughout the house, and the old house has become a ruin. The focus of the project is to restore the soul of the old house and turn the old house, which has become ruin, into a viable place.

Design Challenge
We try to return space to the natural environment, so we just use the surrounding landscape atmosphere instead of the excessive design space, and tell the story with the natural texture and the owner's feelings for the old house.
Project Duration
The project started in February 2018 and finished in December 2018 in Taiwan.
Operation Flow
The design of the open wall gives the old house a fresh air and makes its space more free. The multi-functional area retains the original height of the building, the high space creates comfort, the oversized glass window fully introduces natural light, optimizes the lighting and ventilation of the entire space, the seat design is like grass, and the use of blankets combined with cushions creates comfort and natural The landscape blends into the interior, making the space vibrant and making the interior brighter and softer. Deliberately retaining the old building materials records the history of the old house, and the preserved old bricks are rebuilt into courtyard walls, recording the owner's feelings for the old house.
Research
The use of the courtyard to achieve lighting and ventilation needs, the addition of large-faced glass windows on the side of the house, so that the interior is filled with natural light and more rich in lighting aesthetics. It is rainy in Taiwan, the old house is very wet, and the wall coatings are made of waterproof coating. In addition to adding a drain to the roof, the waterproofing of adjacent adjacent walls is also considered.
Inspiration
The concept of this project is to provide a place that is close to nature, here is the pet treats studio. You can create your own pet biscuit here and let the pets interact. There is no boundary between indoors and outdoors, and the activity space is connected to nature.
