Designer created an artificial crystal cave for the cafe. To match the brand theme of Beans Cafe, which providing a breathable place for people to escape from busy living, technique of light reflection and materials selection are applied. Cave also a protective shelter, customer feels safe and relax inside. Shining of crystal catches their eye and reminds them the good time in there.

Designer creates a lake in front of the entrance ceiling with waving stainless steal surface, some narrow gull rocks are produced by 3D printing. The rocks are not identical to stimulate the power of nature. A tree is planted in the centre of the restaurant and grow toward the light in the middle, to make the light so real to be sun. Special lighting also allows brightness to be auto associated with outdoor true sunlight.
Space without window is a challenge to create brand image of Beans which emphasis on nature. Designer applied several elements to brighten the space and reflections on the wall to reduce the pressure of a closed interior. He also reduced the amount of walls to make the area more spacious.
The project started in October 2017 and finished in March 2018 in Hong Kong
Beans is a popular cafe, to facilitate the operation of ordering, the dessert bar is placed near the entrance, the customer could make their choice while waiting to be seated. Zoning of corridor and the dining tables are well considered to allow effective business model.
To have a full picture and application on the idea of cave, designer went to different caves for details research so to realize the natural cave in the restaurant. The ceiling, all, and combination of colour and decoration are from inspired by the real caves. Moreover, lots of 3D printing models were produced before construction.
A store without window lets the designer associated with a cave. To make this cave comfortable and ensure some warm lighting in it, the design concept Crystal Cave applied. Reflection of crystal brightens the place; also the natural light could be reflected into the store.
