Hotel for Kun hotel
For Lu Han, creating a relaxing environment is more important than anything when it comes to hotel design. Kun hotel is located in a tourist area with about 50 hotels nearby. Since parking in this area is an issue, Lu Han wants to make the parking space a beautiful memory. Inside the aisle, layers by layers the light and shadow build a rhythm space. Along with stars, the visitors are guided into a time tunnel, changing the mood to welcome the next step. It was a nightmare to find a parking space before, but now it is a joyful experience.

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us, or we find it not. By Ralph Waldo Emerson. In my opinion, creating a relaxing environment is more important than anything when it comes to hotel design. This will help the traveler to carry beauty and savor all that he had seen and heard.
Hotel, Lobby, Arcade, Tunnel, Top floor terrace with view, Parking
Kun hotel is a new-built building. Expect for the regulation and comfortable bedroom, I focus on creating a pleasant in-between space which is the arcade aisle for parking lot. The arcade has connected the ground floor and first floor. To build the arch, iron pipes are fixed under the reinforced concrete ceiling and installed base on different slope and angle.
This project is located in a popular tourist area with about 50 hotels nearby. Since parking in this area is a big issue, I want to make the parking space a beautiful memory. In addition, the in-between space will help passengers to settle their mood before enter the hotel. It was a nightmare to find a parking space before, but now it is a joyful experience.
The project is designed from 2014 to 2016, and built from 2015 to 2017 in Taichung Taiwan.
Before entering the hotel, the travelers are greeted by the arcade aisle space of the parking lot. Inside the aisle, layers by layers the light and shadow build a rhythm space. Along with little stars, the visitors are guided into another space and time, changing the mood to welcome the next stop. The oblique and staggered floor in the hall makes the vision extend and enrich the space. It has intertwined with the shadow and dividing lines of the wall in order to create a beautiful movement. Coming out from the elevator, the customer will see the inclined geometric block which lengthen the field of vision and make people ignore the low ceiling.
The hotel owner pays much attention to the arcade for parking lot. As a result, I focus mostly on the shape and lighting of the arcade. The arcade is curved by iron and has a light projection from the floor. Driving on the arcade is like traveling inside a time tunnel.
