Restaurant for Caleb's House (Xiamen) Design & Decoration Co., Ltd
The project, with a total space area of about 500 square meters, makes use of the beams, stone walls, grilles and floor conversion to create spatial hierarchy on the basis of preserving the original building plan. The designers skillfully adopt the form of winding Chinese corridors to ingeniously distance with next tables, enabling diners to enjoy the spacious environment while protecting their privacy. The design of the ceiling echoes with the oil-paper umbrella lampshade and hanging lamps above the guest seats, creating a quiet atmosphere in the dining space.

In this case, the designers draw on the element of traditional Chinese architectural structure, which is an epitome of the millennial ancient town, and take the modern oriental art as the basis, to return to the exquisite lifestyle of traditional culture, and give this brand hotpot restaurant a more profound cultural connotation and demonstrate its own characteristics.

The stone wall, made of stone bricks, highlights the simple rough lime texture. In the choice of materials, local waste materials are applied, including old wood for decoration, Chinese style window lattice, window grille and tiles, to recycle the resources and reduce the costs. Thanks to the use of the natural materials including diatom mud, old green bricks, elms, gray tiles and floor tiles, they bring customers an unusual experience space of luxury and elegance.
To save the cost, the original structure of the staircase area and toilet area remains unchanged, and the owner hopes the designer can optimize the plan layout on the basis of it. It is required that our dining area is relatively open, and we must pay attention to the privacy of consumers and the reasonable optimization of the layout of other areas. For the facade, first of all, because the air-conditioning pipes of the mall have been laid, it has a great impact on our ideal ceiling height. Secondly, the indoor columns against the wall are wide and large, which affects the appearance.
The project finished in May 2019 in Xiamen.
The interior space takes black, white and gray as the main colors to highlight the design style of imposing simplicity. In the spatial planning, the designers skillfully adopt the form of winding Chinese corridors to ingeniously distance with next tables, enabling diners to enjoy the spacious environment while protecting their privacy. Red serves as the main color of the posts, providing a lively atmosphere for the whole space. The restaurant entry area is decorated with Chinese style lanterns to express a warm welcome to customers.

The Chinese-style decoration can not only highlight the characteristics of the hot pot restaurant, but also more in line with the characteristics of the hot pot. The design of the ceiling is also very stylish, with oil paper umbrella as the lampshade and Chinese red as the main color of ceiling. At a glance, it is the strong Chinese style. The red lanterns and graceful Chinese paintings make the whole space poetic and artistic. This is exactly the space mood given by the designer.
