Production Technology

10mm x 10mm x 7M height laminated glass was made. Critical part is the colour, sample submitted over 20 times to control the colour variation.

Design Challenge

In order to build the mezzanine floor, new metal strustuce post to support the new floor is necessary. However, wewant to keep the first floor ceiling height as high as possible, minimize the Mechanical and Engineering services is very difficult to handle. Speical made air-conditioning duct have been made for this project.

Project Duration

The porject started in August 2020 in Shanghai and finished in January 2021.

Operation Flow

At the beginning of the project, we clearly know that our design intention will be Sunflowers, by using its unique form and colour, to transform an interesting space for students to express their imagination. Finally we proposed a 6M height full height laminated glass with sunflowers's colour to present its existence. Its the better way to give impression and catch people eyes.

Research

Design team went to a Botanical Garden before the porject started. In order to know more about flowers, we do a lots of research about flowers, how it grows? when does it blossom? Sunflowers is one of our focusing field. By using its unique colour-bright yellow, we use is as the backdrop at the reception area. To give a strong impression to everyone.

Inspiration

To create an open space for a professional art school is essential. Using Sunflower’s color as the design main theme, keep the purity of the colors, white, red, blue and yellow. The basic color tones for you to imagine, open up your mind to create more possibility of Arts.

Project Overview

Sunflower Art Education Center has been a Silver winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2020 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
