The public area with its gray-white color palette and touches of wooden and earthy colors creates a refreshing cleanness. The use of wood in the study softens the atmosphere, and the organic wood makes the space more flexible and smoother. The large wooden bookcase at the rear provides enough space for art and book collections, and also echoes the TV wall, creating a symmetrical and harmonious visual effect and improving the comfort level.
The main concept of this project is to build a livable house. With the ideas of comfort, convenience, safety, and energy-saving in mind, the designer achieves the goal of environmental protection, energy-saving, and sustainability, therefore, provides a safer, more comfortable, and more convenient lifestyle. To promote the concept of sustainability through design and architectures, the project not only emphasizes energy and water conservation, but also includes smart designs for life and health.
The project finished in June 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan
The design of the window side can also be seen in the study and the bedrooms. Except for saving electricity, the big windows with beautiful views keep the eyes away from artificial lights and electronic products, the residents can enjoy the vigorous beauty from nature, and the ray of sun that lights up the space. The intentionally blank space in the living room is reserved for the residents, where they can truly express their artistry. The open plan guides the light to the kitchen and the use of mirrors in the dining room elevates the space, allowing the beautiful scenery outside to come in and be part of the interior.
As soon as entering the hallway, the entire public space is fully revealed at a glance. The living room and the kitchen separated by the white beam and wooden hallways sit on the two sides of the room. The space is clean and bright with natural light shines in. On the right side, the cool tone from the gray and white tiles on the floor creates a sense of elegance, while dark wooden colors are applied in the spacious living room and the study on the left to set off a relaxing atmosphere.
The natural light introduced by the windows dances with the shadows throughout the day, interweaving the ever-changing pattern in the space, and alongside the indirect warm lightings, the light in the space appears soft and natural. The setting of multiple balcony windows keeps the airflow fluid. Through this project, one can live in nature and enjoys the comfortable and cozy space, while getting rid of the hustle and bustle of urban life, and makes every day at home worth enjoying.
