Residence for Yung Cun Interior Design

Since the client hoped the residence could emit a relaxing vibe, the designer selected wooden building materials after consideration; the material can be seen on the floor, the tables and chairs, system cabinets, doors, the television wall, and other pieces of furniture. The characteristic of wood injects a comforting and calming sense to the residence and has also created a deeper connection between the users and the house. In the end, the expansive space has given all users peace of mind, which embodies the purpose of each living environment.

Unique Properties

The feature of this project is the master bedroom. To draw sufficient daylight into the room to increase brightness and add a sense of vitality, the designer came up with using glass-made doors, windows, and shelves after consideration. This ingenuity allows the sunlight to shine into the area, which the owner can greet each morning with liveliness.

Production Technology

Since the client wanted to have a high-end living environment, the designer set up delicate details that are not common among interior design projects. For example, the terrazzo flooring of the entryway and the architectural concrete coating of the living room walls have brought out a primitive yet textured atmosphere, forming a rich, modern, yet orderly overall

Design Challenge

The most challenging area of this project is the master bedroom. Since the windows were poorly designed initially, daylight could not be drawn into the room, which further caused a gloomy and messy spatial feeling. This condition has also increased the designer's difficulty in designing the storage functionalities.

The project finished in Taiwan.

Operation Flow

The client is super satisfied with the interior that combines the Japanese style with the modern tonal. Whether its the open-end living room or the master bedroom, all areas have reflected the client characteristics and preferences. Moreover, the overall traffic flow is perfectly designed, allowing household members to interact freely.

Research

Since the client is fond of both the Japanese simplism and modern luxurious styles, the designer has given the pre-owned residence a new lease of life after careful consideration and arrangements. Whether it is the living room, the kitchen, the bedrooms, or the entryway, the wooden materials have allowed the household members always to be soaking in relaxation. The pressure on people nowadays can simply disappear as they return to their home; the home is not just a space, but a getaway from the lousy urban life.

Inspiration

The designer has cleverly merged the two seemingly-conflicting elements into the residence to realize the client dream of having a Japanese simplism yet modern luxurious living space. A massive amount of wooden building materials are applied in the living room, while the white-grey walls have embodied the essence of the Japanese simplism style. Meanwhile, the master bedroom is decorated with glass elements to create a sense of luxury while retaining a heart-warming feeling as any residence should be equipped with.
