Public Space for YI-SHIUNG ARCHITECETURE CONSTRUCTION LTD.
Artistic Home among Trees is equipped with a public space featuring a Japanese style. By applying to the design such techniques common in the Japanese style as borrowing the view from the outdoors as well as natural materials like wooden grilles, it manifests a humanistic concern embodied in the purest, most rustic natural elements. Starting from inside each private housing unit and reaching beyond it, the public space is structured to serve as a buffer transition between the inside and the outside.

The verdant front courtyard ushers people into the building, which has a symmetrical floor plan. The lobby has an elevated ceiling and a calming color scheme constructed with dark-brown hardwood and natural stone, shaping a majestic space for greeting and receiving guests. An intriguing low-profile color palette and natural materials are coherent in the entire public space. Huge French windows allow for a clear view of the Japanese courtyard dotted with pools, lawns, and Japanese white pine trees. In this way, the view outside is directed indoors, creating a living space in the architecture to live in harmony with nature.
Modelled on nature, Artistic Home among Trees centers around how to enrich life with art and cultivate as well as nurture the mind.
The project finished in December 2021 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
Gallery hallways connect different sections in the public space, with the reception area, the indoor swimming pool, the multifunctional space and the reading room in neat order. Wooden sculptures with themes of radiance, ascension, cohesion, reunion and harvest serve as a flow and are auspicious statement pieces, delineating artistic conceptions and prospects for a future life.
Through the establishment of Hardwood Art Museum, natural materials and their natural forms nourish the Eastern craftsmanship by using hardwood as materials for creation. In this way, it is perfectly incorporated into the rustic yet refined Zen space, encompassing square and round, stone and wood, man-made and natural. In a tangible but profound way, this space is subtly rendered into a rustic but not simple spatial narrative.
As a large residential community close to Taiwan' international airport, Artistic Home among Trees is equipped with a public space featuring a Japanese style. By applying to the design such techniques common in the Japanese style as borrowing the view from the outdoors as well as natural materials like wooden grilles, it manifests a humanistic concern embodied in the purist, most rustic natural elements. Starting from inside each private housing unit and reaching beyond it, the public space is structured to serve as a buffer transition between the inside and the outside.
