The master bedroom is located on the third floor. The bed is placed in a light-filled area with continuous storage cabinets. To avoid the sense of oppressiveness brought by the volume, display cabinets and skeleton shelves are interspersed among the cabinets, forming a clever vista and welcoming the change of layers. Earthy colors lighten and brighten up the secondary bedroom. Two rounded arches add a sense of playfulness, creating a comfortable sleeping atmosphere in soft light and faint shadow.
The project is finished in 2023 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
In this four-floor abode, each floor has different purposes to best support the needs of the homeowners. A garage and entry hall are located on the first floor. Gentle wood accents make the entry hall warm and welcoming and ooze a cozy and rustic charm, greeting guests and beckoning them to come in. The open space is divided into a sofa area and a bar. Without distractions from audio and video equipment, the space can calm people down. The second floor is the public area where people gather to bond. The horizontally extended traffic flow reveals the path of light to prevent space in less saturated colors from feeling oppressive. The master bedroom and secondary bedroom are located on the third and fourth floors separately to offer privacy to the occupants.
The modern-style living room is decorated with black, gray and white, releasing a stable atmosphere. Complemented by wood, paint, and mirrors, the space has a restrained quality under the light. The majestic ink-colored marble forms the TV wall, with wood storage cabinets and display shelves attached to both sides. The glossy stone and rustic wood, under the reflection of the light, shape the layers and reveal the tension of the view. The sofa is moved forward to create a study area, and the walls with hand-applied materials add a humanistic atmosphere. Trimmed with curves, the exterior edges wrap around you like a warm hug.
To recreate the relaxing and cozy hotel vibes, the muted color palette with less saturated colors constructs a calm texture. Without numerous storage cabinets and partition walls, the transparent layout allows for a generous and spacious feeling of space, as well as an unobstructed view, making homeowners' dream home come true. In terms of the public area, different shades of black and grey create a gradient feel with different layers of colors, connecting the TV wall, study room and dining room. Wood accents can balance a cool-toned space and create a stable and magnificent residence.
