As the centerpiece of this cultural and art center, the Grand Theater, with its exceptional design and unique concept, is becoming the new gateway for urban cultural exchange.

Production Technology

The ingenious use of materials is one of the highlights of the Grand Theater's design: a combination of materials such as GRG, artificial stone, metal grilles, aluminum panels, paint-free decorative panels, and sound-absorbing panels creates a diverse texture and layering, seamlessly blending modernity and tradition, art and functionality.

Design Challenge

From the outset of the design process, we closely revolved around two core principles: sustainable development and artistic expression. Merging elements of regional culture, the Grand Theater becomes an authentic representation of the city's spirit. Advocating the principle of "openness and integration, spaciousness and density," the architectural design embodies both openness and depth, presenting the unique charm of urban diversity.

The Xi'an Chanba Poly Grand Theater is not only an artistic palace but also a symbol of the city's spirit. Here, history meets the future, art blends with life, and the sparks of culture ignite in the hearts of every spectator. It will become Xi'an's pride and present the world with a splendid cultural treasure.

Inspiration

"Brilliant Gem on the Banks of Chan River" – this is the design inspiration for the Grand Theater, unwavering like a colossal rock, resplendent like a precious gemstone. Situated by the banks of the Chan River, the Grand Theater appears as if a massive stone embedded in the Qinling Mountains, harmoniously melding with nature. The design of the public hall extends the building's flowing lines, engaging in a visual dialogue with the curtain wall and creating an animated visual conversation.

Project Overview

Chanba Poly Theatre has been a Golden winner in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Gold A' Design Award is granted to designs that demonstrate a high level of innovation and a significant impact on their intended audience. Recognized as a major achievement by the A' Design Awards, these designs are characterized by their visionary approach and the exceptional skill of their creators. Winners of the Gold A' Design Award are noted for their ability to push the envelope in art, science, design, and technology, delivering solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations. These designs serve as benchmarks for excellence, encouraging further innovation and inspiring future generations of designers.
