Drawing the elements of Nanjing City history, the overall design plan arranges an elegant and simple space embellished with warm-color decorations to expand the space's sense of scale. The largest challenge lies in the highlight design. In order to present the perfect effect of the glass side of staircase, it needs to consider the super long materials, the color gradient and the installation order and ensure the installation of irregular-sized glass. And the paper installation needs to produce many samples to make sure the best quality and visual effects.
The project started in January 2020 and finished in June 2020 in Nanjing, China.
The circulation route was supposed to be rational and beneficial to sale and improve visiting experiences. Each functional division should be well arranged and closely connect with each other. Natural light was preferred and lighting should be enhanced. The spatial layout should be reasonable, stood out the advantages of the building itself and highlighted the additional display function to satisfy daily needs of showing visitors.
Considering that the New District lacks profound and abundant cultural background, the designer integrated the Yiju brand spirit and historical and cultural preservation into the project. The project shows the personality of the designer, breaks the idea that "Hexi district is the cultural desert of Nanjing", and steps onto a new stage of the Yihe series.
The space of the lobby is outlined holistically in vertical and horizontal directions. The aisle space on the second floor are highlighted by the components of metals, tinted glass, piano-keyboard-like stairs, and artistic installations like paper fish sculptures, which can lift the space's visual effect and flexibility in the meantime. The reception desk is spliced in a form of flowing water, echoing with the background of swimming fish.
