Known as the most beautiful Arcteryx store, the retail space boasts a window view of Tibetan landscape with continuous and undulating hills, cattle and horses wandering freely, intertwined meadows and fields, dotted rammed earth Tibetan houses and huge barley shelve. Inside the store, the model display of the mountains and rivers of the Greater Shangri-La region embodies the local residents and their spiritual world.

Unique Properties
Inspired by mountains, Arc'teryx has always taken mountains as the backdrop and the professional outdoor attributes as the core, focusing on the sustainable development of coexistence with nature. The company has opened the curtain of "Upward to Beauty" in the secret mountainous region of Shangri-La in Yunnan Province. The journey begins with the open and challenging outdoor experience and ends with the mountain peaks to conquer.

Production Technology
Given priority to sustainability, recyclable materials are used in the project. By reusing and upcycling materials, the store reduces waste and the consumption of new resources. This not only gives a second life to existing materials but also adds unique features to the store designs. The details and decorations in the space echo Yunnan's local handicraft traditions, blending with the brand's DNA while maintaining maximum localization.
Design Challenge
The challenge is to create a unique setting that is both appropriate for the hotel and the brand. The project strives to strike the right balance by selecting localized materials that resonate with the community and reflect the local culture while maintaining the consistency of the global brand identity concept. It is a complex task to create a space that effectively showcases the brand's offerings while providing a relaxing and satisfying experience for customers.
Project Duration
It started in July 2021 and opened in April 2022. Location: 2nd Floor, Shangri-La Songtsam Linka Hotel, Kna Village, Jiantang Town, Shangri-La, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China
Operation Flow
The design responds to Arc'teryx's vision of having its footprints in the mountains, highlighting the brand's DNA and capturing its essence. The design team deeply understand that the key to the project does not lie in grand facilities and design, impeccable service, or a high degree of privacy, but rather in a lifestyle that is characterized by cultural traits and life attitudes that resonate and satisfy consumers emotionally.
Research
The "destination" store of Arc'teryx in Songtsam Linka, Shangri-La, is not only the "most beautiful Arc'teryx store", but also the experience center of Mountain Classroom, an important IP of Arc'teryx. The purpose of the "Destination" store is to bring the professional products and ultimate services of Arc'teryx to the outdoors, and to provide 'Arc'teryx fans' with a home away from home in the mountains at an outdoor destination.
Inspiration
Shangri-La in Yunnan Province is considered a pure land by outdoor enthusiasts for its abundant mountain resources. Hiking through Shangri-La, looking into the distance from the top of the mountains, one will immerse in the peaceful and quiet greenery and desire for the outdoors. As a result, it naturally becomes an extremely enjoyable and wonderful thing to experience outdoor sports.
