Residence for C. J. House Design
The home serves as a pristine white canvas, where the designer blends color and creativity. Every corner reflects a minimalist, literary, and free-spirited aesthetic, reinterpreting the cycles of sunrise and sunset, tide and flow. This project integrates the essence of the four seasons into daily life. The bold entryway and living room feature striking paintings, while private areas adopt a subdued palette with wood textures, creating a simple, rustic charm that shapes the rhythm of everyday living.

The space evokes the feeling of a painting, with layered green waves reminiscent of spring moss. A summer wave painting faces the floor-to-ceiling windows, inviting the warmth of sunlight and the scent of the sea breeze. The long, narrow layout allows natural light to flow from both ends, illuminating the dining area and kitchen. An autumn painting with deeper brushstrokes symbolizes the season, while curved walls create stability and guide movement. A winter-themed painting in the dining area captures the shifting light, completing the four-season theme.

The design incorporates wood and recycled metal, with the original aluminum windows removed and recycled for structural safety. Accents of metal strips, stone, and fabric add to the gallery-like atmosphere. The space features rich layers of white tones, with paintings representing the four seasons-spring, summer, autumn, and winter-strategically placed in the entryway, living room, corridor, and dining area to enhance each area's ambiance. In the private areas, darker, more subdued tones like dark green reflect the owner's personal preferences.
The primary challenge stemmed from the structural limitations of the old building. Initially, all interior walls needed to be demolished, and the layout had to be reconfigured without compromising the building's structural integrity to meet both Feng-Shui requirements and the owner's lifestyle needs. Additionally, since the two owners have different work schedules, the designers had to create flexible dual master bedrooms, allowing the residents to use them independently at different times, which added complexity to the planning.
The project finished in May 2023 in Taiwan.
The residents greatly appreciate the transformed space, especially the improved natural lighting and air circulation. They feel that these changes enhance both the aesthetics and comfort of their home. The design, inspired by the four seasons, creates a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors, making time itself a part of the living experience. This artistic ambiance aligns perfectly with their lifestyle and taste, turning their home into a space that reflects both functionality and beauty.
The project, 'La Galerie NO.24,' transforms an old apartment into an artistic yet functional residence. Inspired by feng shui principles, the design revolves around a 'white gallery' concept, with curved corridors ensuring an open and seamless flow. Bright spaces and concealed storage enhance simplicity, while wave-like walls introduce movement. Seasonal paintings-spring dew, summer sun, autumn breeze, and winter moon-are highlighted with focused lighting, bringing depth to the design. This renovation reflects the owners' vision of a free-spirited lifestyle, blending aesthetics with practicality.
The owner possesses a youthful spirit that deeply values freedom and art. If this space were to be likened to a specific image, it would be an all-white, unconventional setting. The designers used flowing curves to create the themes for each area. Paintings and furniture are the centerpiece of this project, embodying the free-spirited, artistic essence that flows through the owner's veins. The project is themed as a 'white gallery,' with green, blue, orange, and gray symbolizing the changing seasons, reflecting the passage of time experienced by both the residents and the space.
