Residential Apartment for Zewu Interior Design
The design team shaped the interior with a minimalist approach in forming a bi-polar aesthetics of cold and warm, and hard and soft, in order to strike a meticulous balance between technology and culture. As conflict is often used as the underlying tone of creative work for its drama without compromises under any given styling, therefore, the design team ran away from the conventional styling from material and color to the abstract functional and aesthetics discourse.

As conflict is often used as the underlying tone of creative work for its drama without compromises under any given styling, therefore, the design team ran away from the conventional styling from material and color to the abstract functional and aesthetics discourse. High titanium-plated texture in contrast to the primal and rustic concrete plank, it created a start visual contrast, while the color and line work were installed with posh factor as a conflict to the harmony process.
Aesthetic, Minimalist, Contemporary, Modern,
This project utilizes titanium-plated metal plates, glass, black metal paint, and aluminum, etc., to manifest the sense of modern technology, amalgamated with genuine timber veneer, leather, timber flooring and wall fabric to create a warm ambiance. As the entrance was treated with tiles, and TV wall with timber veneer, all of which were of design in detailing for spatial dynamic quality. The open study and its storage adopted concrete plank with the bookshelf behind was treated with natural timber veneer and dark glass for a very posh finishing.
In the pursuit of visual consistency, and innovative exquisite exterior, the design team adopted titanium-plated plate as the main TV wall material, of which its strength added to the assembly difficulty in eventually having produced precise and exquisite fitting which was not just an embellished background but a consolidated visual focus.
This project was completed in 2019, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan
The Transition area as the medium for the spatial transit, the design team has seamlessly integrated the entrance with storage clever detailing of connecting dyed wood veneer to concrete plank concealing the storage door so as to preserve an overall minimalist quality matching materiality and layered spatiality. The space behind the living room was planned as an open study with a central study benchtop as a sofa backdrop that defines the space.
As the conflict has always been opposite side of harmony, and as far as the designer is concerned, only the multi-level thinking can operate beyond the pre-defined styling frame. As the designer anchors on Conflict Aesthetics in forming a genuine aesthetics of synergized visual and tactile experiences, the public domain was treated with low-chroma scheme and refined material texture, while the private domain was treated with veneer, fabric and metal to create a contemporary look-and-feel.
The unique taste of the client who likes the modern look-and-feel of 3C tech products, and fancies a free lifestyle, the imagination for space was preserved with a naturalist view and the overall exquisite quality. The spirit of Less is More, the design team shaped the interior with a minimalist approach in forming a bi-polar aesthetics of cold and warm, and hard and soft, in order to strike a meticulous balance between technology and culture.
