Sales Center for ONE-CU Interior Design Lab
The project is located at Xi'an, China. The grammar of stroll-in-the-park are adopted to complete the connection between the spaces. In order to create an interactive partition between the virtual and real, geometric blocks of different materials stand and intersect in the spaces, cutting out openings of various heights and sizes, combined light and shadows. The design constructed the space with intuitive lines, abandoned exaggerated decoration, and returned to the use of warm, natural and simple materials.

For a sales center, strong visual impact is bad for attracting people to stay longer. In this project, the design team discarded the form of excessive expression, constructed the space with intuitive lines, abandoned exaggerated decoration, and returned to the use of warm, natural and simple materials. Thanks to this simplicity, people can perceive natural light, shadows and colours without any interference.
The project started in April 2020 and finished in August 2020 Xi'an, China.
The project is a three-storey single building. The first floor serves as the reception area and the cultural exhibition hall; the second floor accommodates the negotiation spaces and project display spaces; the third and fourth floors are equipped with three show flats in different types. With a concession of spatial scale, the building constructs an inner courtyard surrounded by towering trees. A waterscape and a glass-enclosed building reflect each other, forming a sense of tranquillity.
The project design is based on the local culture and shows a discussion about tradition, modern and future and even a reconstruction and overlapping of the new and old. The design team hoped to use a "preposition" to explore more possibilities of the spatial arrangement.
The design is not so much a noun that defines a certain style. The design team preferred to position it as a "preposition", in which the design points to the relationship between the interior and the exterior of the site, the guidance between the space function and the subject's actions, as well as the orderly hierarchy formed by composition and material.
