A sculptural staircase is inserted into the space, which not only optimizes the spatial layout and the circulation route, but also creates a visual focus. The double-height stairwell avoids an oppressive feeling and renders a breathing space. The combination of soft furniture pieces results in a cozy and peaceful environment, and various art installations provide enjoyment at spiritual level. The wooden grain combined with marbles and micro cement adds a tactile touch to the space.

A sculptural staircase is inserted into the space, not only optimizing the spatial layout and the circulation route, but also creating a visual focus. The double-height stairwell avoids an oppressive feeling and renders a breathing space. Natural light and interior artificial lighting complement each other, creating varying visual experiences and spatial atmospheres throughout the day. The subtle utilization of light achieves a surprisingly charming effect.
Art installation, large French window, hidden lighting, environment protection concept, sustainability, natural elements, healing, simple hues
The dining room continues the overall space's design languages, and meanwhile incorporates metal and wooden veneers to create a contrasting visual effect and a sense of layering. The large French window brings in daylight and frames outdoor landscape. It provides an open view whilst stimulating an open state of mind. The floor lamp draws on the natural form of molten lava and melting glacier, presenting an aesthetic appearance through irregular balls and glittering effects.
The greatest challenge of the project lay in the creation of outdoor landscape. The design team had to figure out how to construct an outdoor courtyard that incorporates mountain and water elements as well as an artistic, poetic ambience, and how to let the courtyard connect with the interior space. This required careful consideration of spatial scale and the fusion of indoor and outdoor atmosphere.
The project started in May 2021 and finished in March 2022 in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China.
The design of the team room expresses a return to nature, intending to stimulate the affection for nature. By incorporating life inspirations and aesthetics, this space presents a unique character. It touches the heart through intuitive visual expressions. The combination of soft furniture pieces results in a cozy and peaceful ambience. Besides, various art installations provide enjoyment at spiritual level.
The sofas combine both artistry and comfort. By processing natural materials through traditional Italian handmade craftsmanship and modern technology, the furniture pieces covey reverence for nature and environment protection ideas. Furnishings such as the polar bear-like decoration imply global challenges such as melting glaciers and animals' loss of habitat, and indicate a call for sustainability and harmonious coexistence between human and nature.
The client requested a warm, unique home that expresses personal taste and pursuit of life, rather than a conventional closed residence. The home was hoped to not only meet functional requirements but also evoke emotions, so as to further build interpersonal connection and produce a cozy atmosphere suitable for chatting with friends.
