The owner is a famous astrologist in Taiwan. She hosts a live-streamed horoscope talk show with celebrity guests at her own house. This house both home and her work place. The challenges with designing this old apartment of three decades comes in the form of height and poor interior management. The maximum height under the beam is 2.13 m which in turn presents an overall vibe of constrain. The modification has given it a new look, giving more space for some sun and additional greenery inside.

The challenges with designing this old apartment of three decades comes in the form of height and poor interior management. Standing at 2.68 m, the maximum height under the beam is 2.13 m which in turn presents an overall vibe of constrain. The modification has given it a new look, giving more space for some sun and additional greenery inside.
The project started in July 2018 in Taipei, Taiwan and finished in April 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan.
First inspected the structure of the old apartment and fixed some aging issues. Re-planning the floor plan, to solved the problems of the moving line and natural lighting. Then make the different heights in the ceiling design to get the great use of the space for different visual experience. The last part is the selection and matching of materials and furniture.
Checking structural problems in the old apartment with the structural technician and resolved them. Study the direction of natural light and the extent of the building which can be renovated. In-depth understanding of the homeowner's life and all the needs that need to be done in the space, propose the floor plan solution.
The nature of the owner's profession makes this house both home and her work place. All design is based on her personal and professional needs.
